Vancouver Giants News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants announced on Tuesday that the club has signed goaltender David Tendeck and defenseman Alex Kannok-Leipert to Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreements.

"We're really happy to add both of these young players to our club," said Giants Director of Player Personnel Jason Ripplinger. "David is a big, athletic goaltender who has had some great successes in minor hockey, and Alex is a smart, smooth skating defenseman with good instincts. They're both great additions for the future."

Tendeck, a native of North Vancouver, was drafted by the Giants in the sixth round of the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft at 130th overall. The 1999 born puck stopper posted a 15-7-2 record and a 2.21 goals against average with the Vancouver Northwest Giants of the BC Major Midget League in 2014/15. He was also named the MVP of two games at the Mac's Midget Tournament in Calgary.

"I'm speechless," said Tendeck. "It feels great to sign with the Giants. I've always wanted to play for this team since I was little, so it's awesome."

Kannok-Leipert, who was born in the year 2000, tallied 16 goals and 12 assists in 29 games with the Regina Monarchs Bantam AA team in 2014/15. The Giants selected the Regina native in the fourth round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft at 79th overall. Kannok-Leipert is slated to play the 2015/16 season with the Regina Pat Canadians Midget AAA team.

"I'm extremely excited to sign with such a classy organization," said Kannok-Leipert. "Training camp has been great so far. It's been really high tempo, and I'm excited for my future and glad to have this opportunity."

The Giants will wrap up their 2015 Training Camp on Wednesday with the annual Alumni Challenge Intrasquad Game! Face-off goes at 7:00pm at the Ladner Leisure Centre.
