Oil Kings Announce 2023-24 Training Camp Schedule

(Edmonton, AB) - The Edmonton Oil Kings will open their 2023-24 Training Camp on Wednesday, August 30 at the Downtown Community Arena, the Club announced today.

Players attending the Oil Kings training camp will be split into four teams named after prominent Oil Kings alumni; Team Atkinson, Team Brossoit, Team Fix-Wolansky and Team Irving.

All on-ice activity will be run by Oil Kings head coach Luke Pierce and his coaching staff at the Downtown Community Arena.

The camp will run from Wednesday, August 30 and will conclude on Monday, September 4 with the Oil Kings annual Bob McGill Cup Red-White intrasquad game.

Training camp will be closed to the public until Monday, September 4 when fans are encouraged to come down to the DCA to check out the Bob McGill Cup.

Following training camp, the Oil Kings will begin their four-game preseason schedule with all home pre-season games being played in surrounding communities that typically do not have the ability to see WHL hockey in-person:

The Oil Kings open their 2023-24 WHL regular season on the road Friday, September 22 in Red Deer against the Rebels before hosting their home opener the next night on Saturday, September 23, also against the Rebels.
