Macon Mayhem News Release
Daniel Gentzler was "Dramatic Dan" on Sunday scoring the tying goal with 1:38 left in regulation time, and then the winning goal with 3.2 seconds left on the clock in overtime, lifting the Macon Mayhem to a 2-1 win over the Columbus Cottonmouths on Sunday at the Macon Coliseum.
It was the third time in five games this season, The long time rivals needed overtime to decide the winner of the game. The Mayhem are now 3-1-1 against Columbus this season.
It was a solid defensive night for the Mayhem which held Columbus to 26 shots on goal. The only shot that eluded Macon goaltender Garrett Bartus came off the stick of Cody Freeman at 18:05 of the first period.
The Mayhem also killed off all four Columbus power play opportunities. Macon did not have a power play in the game.
The Mayhem host the Knoxville Ice Bears on Friday at 7:35 p.m.
