Ogden Raptors News Release
As of today, the Raptors have compiled an 11-5 record, tops in the Southern Division. After this homestand, we head off to play in Helena against the first place Northern division Brewers to play a four game series. Then we head to Missoula to play three before coming home. If we can have a 4-3 or 5-2 road trip, I believe we will win the first half title. I'm trying not to think that far ahead though, as I'm sure the players and coaches aren't either.
We are 6-1 at home, best start in franchise history. Pitching, hitting, and defense are all playing in snyc and doing well.
We have a few players who are no longer with the club. Outfielder Hector Arias has been given his un-conditional release. Outfielder Sam Steidl has decided to retire from baseball. We have added a new player who will see his first action tonight. Rick Taloa, a First Baseman will be the DH tonight. At 6'5" 260, he stands out in the crowd. He put on a show in BP yesterday with many shots hit over the scoreboard. We wish hime well tonight and every night of his career.
Don't forget Friday is "Jersey Night" at the park. The first 500 fans will receive a Raptors Mesh Jersey courtesy of Setpoint Engineering. We thank them for their support of Raptors Baseball. Also, Saturday is scheduled with another Post Game Fireworks Show so please plan on attending.
Sponsor of the Week: Federal Express: If you need it there tomorrow, and on time, call on Federal Express.
Last Weeks Trivia Winner was Sherry Kessel of Ogden. She was the first to answer that John Stein played for the Dodgers, White Sox, and Pirates system, and played college ball at UNLV.
