
Sox strike back against Brewers

Helena, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox defeated the Helena Brewers 6-4 at Kindrick Field in Helena. Noe Rodriguez (0-2) took the loss as he worked only an inning plus, allowing three runs. The win went to Derek Miller (1-0) as he worked six innings allowing only three hits.
The Brewers scored first in the second inning when they got a three-run homerun from Brad Willcutt. Later in the inning, Darren Ford added an inside the park homerun to put Helena up 4-0.
Helena added a solo homerun in the fourth inning from Kenny Holmberg before a fifth inning run on a throwing error by shortstop Javier Castillo to take a 6-0 lead.
Helena starter, Derrek Miller, took a bid for a perfect game into the sixth before allowing three hits. However, the Sox were unable to score off of Miller. The Brewers would add two more solo homers in the six on back-to-back shots from Charlie Fermaint and Angel Salome. Later in the inning, a passed ball scored the ninth run of the game for the Brewers. The Brewers would hold on to the shutout and a 9-0 win over the Sox.
Tomorrow night the Sox will open a two game series with the Missoula Osprey at Centene Stadium. The starters for the game are: Eric Everly (LHP) for Great Falls and Anthony Cupps (RHP) for Missoula. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.
