Wappingers Falls, NY (7/12/15)- The Hudson Valley Renegades defeated the Batavia Muckdogs by a score of 14-6 on Sunday evening at Dutchess Stadium. With the win, Hudson Valley improves to 12-10 on the season while Batavia drops to 6-15.
Hudson Valley scored their first run in the bottom of the first on a RBI single by third baseman Matt Dacey to take a 1-0 lead. The Renegades struck for six runs in the bottom of the third inning on six hits to take a 7-0 lead. The offensive outburst was keyed by a three-run double by Dacey and RBI singles from first baseman Alex Schmidt and catcher Danny De Le Calle.
The 7-0 score line remained until the top of the sixth inning as Batavia scored six runs off seven hits to cut the Renegades lead to 7-6. The inning included a two-run double by Batavia's catcher Brad Haynal and a two-run home run from first baseman Eric Fisher.
