Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (February 21)-A fluke goal proved to be costly for the Brahmas as their eight game winning streak came to an end with a 1-0 loss to the Wichita Thunder Sunday afternoon.
A slapshot from the blueline by Brent Ottmann took a crazy bounce off of goaltender Joe Palmer's shoulder and back into the net for the lone goal in the game at the 12:16 mark in the second period. A comeback was not in the cards for the Brahmas as they were outshot 40-27 in the game and were 0-for-4 on the powerplay. The 1-0 loss marks the first time the Brahmas have been shutout this season.
Texas continues their road trip Tuesday with the I-20 rivalry against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at 7:05 PM. All the action can be seen on CHL-TV. The Brahmas return home to the NYTEX Sports Centre Friday night as the Corpus Christi IceRays pay visit for a 7:05 PM faceoff on "Mini Stick Night". On Sunday the Brahmas will play the Missouri Mavericks at 5:05 PM at NYTEX; for tickets please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
