Offense Erupts in Seventh as Pit Spitters Squish the Spiders

Traverse City, MI - After never leading in the series, (10-5) Traverse City scored eight runs in the seventh to propel them over the (9-7) Fond du Lac Dock Spiders by a final of 10-5.
The Pit Spitters stranded 10 runners in the first six innings, having two innings with bases loaded. Trailing 3-0, they finally broke through in the seventh. After two walks forced Fond du Lac to go to the bullpen, Chris Monroe singled home the first runner. Miles Simington scored Tito Flores to make it 3-2 and then Christian Faust singled to load the bases. Adam Proctor walked in a run, Colin Summerhill walked in a run and then Camden Traficante walked in another. After Trey Truitt singled home two more, every Pit Spitter reached base safely in the inning, all without recording an out. When it was all said and done, Traverse City sent 13 batters to the plate, scoring eight runs.
Chris Monroe had two hits and an RBI, giving him the team lead in both categories. He has 16 hits and 12 RBI's on the season.
Christian Faust walked twice and singled, pushing his on-base streak to 15 games.
Colin Summerhill and Trey Truitt III played their last game for the Pit Spitters. With their temp. contracts up, they'll both travel home on the off day. Summerhill finished his final game 1-2, pinch hitting in the sixth. His RBI single in the seventh tied him atop the team with Monroe in both categories. Truitt finished his final game 1-5 with three RBI's, and leaves the team first in walks (12) and triples (2), second in hits (15) and runs (13) and third in average (.326).
