June 2, 2021 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Orange County SC News Release
ORANGE COUNTY, California - Award-winning sports marketing agency COLLiDE is making its first move into professional soccer, teaming up with USL team Orange County to support the club's domestic and global ambitions.
Orange County SC, OC's only professional soccer team, already have a strategic partnership with Scottish champion and Champions League club Glasgow Rangers. Now the club is expanding their off-field capabilities working with the Los Angeles-based agency on a range of areas including merchandise, marketing and commercial partnerships.
"We take incredible pride in producing creative that is limited and speaks to the core values of team and community," said COLLiDE president Alan Miller. "We have had tremendous success bringing our marketing-forward approach to merchandise with our baseball teams and are excited to be working now in soccer with a leading team like Orange County in this fast-growing league'"
COLLiDE Sport owns, operates, and invests in many teams in North America including the Portland Pickles, Cleburne Railroaders, Wild Wild West League, and Dallas Jackals.
"Orange County, as both a location and a brand, is recognized across the US and across the globe. We're delighted to be working with COLLiDE to help make sure the name of Orange County Soccer Club is just as well known," said Dan Rutstein, SVP of Merchandise and International Projects at OCSC.
"We have a story to tell about our club, our local community and our values. We are a team with local heart and global vision and are looking forward to telling that story through our brand. It's more than just surfboards and waves here, though that isn't a terrible place to start"
COLLiDE has helped design a range of coastline-inspired products to launch the collaboration, which not only tell the story of the area's beach culture but also the story of professional soccer in the OC.
"We are very excited for this opportunity to work creatively with OCSC and help them take their merchandise to the next level." said Jon Ryan, the Super Bowl winning former punter of the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, avid soccer fan, and partner in COLLiDE's Sport division.
