North Carolina FC News Release

Cary, NC - North Carolina Courage defender Sinclaire Miramontez has signed a contract through 2020 with a one-year option, the club announced today. Miramontez was under contract through the NWSL Challenge Cup after being drafted 27th overall in the 2020 NWSL Draft out of the University of Nebraska by the Courage.

Miramontez has experience training with the Courage since the beginning of the 2020 season and was an available player on the bench during the NWSL Challenge Cup.

"Sinclaire has been excellent since arriving," said NC Courage head coach Paul Riley. "She had a minor knee operation which set her back, but we have high expectations for her. She has a sophisticated mind for the game and her ability to pick out the right pass makes her another playmaking center back which is a key aspect in our player profile requirements. The 2020 draft class will prove very good for our club and Sinclaire has the talent, mindset, and physical attributes to play a key role over the next few years."

At Nebraska, Miramontez earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors twice. She played 76 games for the Cornhuskers over four seasons. The defender has also been called up to the US U-19, U-20, and U-23 National Teams in past years.
