Modesto, CA. - Konner Wade was great in the Modesto Nuts' 2-1, series-clinching victory over the Lake Elsinore Storm on Tuesday night at John Thurman Field.
Wade (W, 5-6) tossed 6.2 innings and allowed just one unearned run while working around three Nuts' (49-46; 16-9) errors. Wade struck out four and allowed four hits while walking two.
Dillon Thomas recorded another two hits for the Nuts. He cracked a single in the first and the go-ahead RBI double in the fourth against Storm (37-57; 6-18) starter Zech Lemond (L, 4-9). Emerson Jimenez recorded a RBI single to plate Ashley Graeter after his leadoff double in the third.
Matt Carasit (S, 9/11) tossed a dominant ninth with a pair of strikeouts to lock down the win.
After an off day on Wednesday, the Nuts head on the road for the first of four games against the Visalia Rawhide. First pitch is at 7:00 p.m. Coverage on ModestoNuts.com will start at 6:55 p.m.
