
Nuts in Seventh Heaven After 7-6 Win

Stockton, CA. - Trailing all night, the Modesto Nuts scored six runs in the seventh inning and later to defeat the Stockton Ports 7-6 in ten innings at Banner Island Ballpark on Tuesday night.
With the win, the Nuts (55-46; 22-9) extend their season-long winning streak to seven games and have a chance to for a perfect seven-game road trip with a win on Wednesday. The victory pushes the Nuts' Second Half lead to two games over the San Jose Giants.
Down by three in the ninth, the Nuts were down to their final strike with the bases loaded. Dillon Thomas struck out with two outs, but the ball snuck past the Ports' (53-47; 15-16) catcher allowing Correlle Prime to score and Thomas to reach. Ryan McMahon followed and tied the game with a two-run single.
In the tenth, Wilfredo Rodriguez whacked the go-ahead home run on the first pitch from reliever Joel Seddon (L, 7-7).
Matt Carasiti (S, 13/15) worked around a single in the tenth to earn his fourth save on the road trip.
Matt Pierpont (W, 5-3) tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen. In the bottom of the ninth, he kept the game tied stranding a pair of runners in scoring position.
Emerson Jimenez went 3-for-5 with a homer and a triple. Prime had three hits in the ball game.
