
Nuts' Bats Take off in 13-2 Triumph

Stockton, CA. - With a terrific start by Parker French, three home runs and a season-high 17 hits, the Modesto Nuts blew out the Stockton Ports 13-2 on Saturday night at Banner Island Ballpark.
French (W, 6-6) worked into the seventh inning for the Nuts (8-15; 34-59) and allowed just one run on a solo shot in the fourth. He surrendered just five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. French retired seven in a row to start the game and dodged a bullet in the fifth stranding the bases loaded to keep the Nuts comfortably ahead of the Ports (10-13; 37-56).
In the first, the Nuts jumped all over Ports starter Joey Wagman (L, 3-6) for four runs. Drew Weeks capped the four-run rally with a two-run homer as part of a three-RBI night.
Dom Nunez gave the Nuts an eight-run lead in the fourth with a two-run blast that capped the Nuts' second four-run frame.
Omar Carrizales went 4-for-6 with a solo homer in the ninth, three singles and three runs scored.
In the seventh, the Nuts took advantage of three errors to plate four more runs. The 17 hits matched the Nuts' season-high for the third time this year.
Wes Rogers went 2-for-6 with a RBI double in the first and two runs scored. Josh Fuentes had three hits including a double and two RBI.
