Peoria Rivermen News Release

GOING STREAKING

The Rivermen enter tonight's contest winners of their last four games after taking three straight in Louisiana November 5-7 and winning their last game 3-2 in overtime on home ice against Knoxville 11/14. Last season the Rivermen notched a pair of separate five-game winning streaks, November 2-16 and December 12-26.

MISSING SUMMERS

Tonight will be the first of two games for the Rivermen without suspended winger Matt Summers after the veteran was issued a boarding penalty and game misconduct in the first period of last Saturday's game against Knoxville. Summers will miss Peoria's games tonight and tomorrow night, and is eligible to return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

CARDIAC KIDS

Last Saturday's win against Knoxville was Peoria's second overtime game of the season, and their second in three games. The Rivermen won the other overtime game November 6 by a 5-4 margin in Louisiana on a powerplay goal from Timmy Hall. Last season the Rivermen won six of seven games decided in overtime and they split four games decided in shootouts.

THE MASKED MAN

Rivermen goaltender Kyle Rank enters play tonight with a 3-2-0 record, but sporting the second-best Goals Against Average in the SPHL at 2.20 among goaltenders with at least 150 minutes played this season. Rank's .924 Save Percentage is also tied for third in the league among qualifying goalies.

WHAT'S AHEAD

After tonight's contest the Rivermen and IceGators will play twice more at Carver Arena Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. After that the Rivermen remain home for a pair of games next Friday and Saturday against the expansion Macon Mayhem. Following the games against Macon Peoria will hit the road December 3-5 for a game in Knoxville followed by a pair at Mississippi.
