February 20, 2023 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Northern Arizona Wranglers News Release
Ware Jr., 5'10", 195 lbs., will be seeing his first game action, in the Indoor Football League, with the Wranglers. Ware Jr. was signed to the Arizona Rattlers, in 2022, prior to training camp. Ware Jr. watched the two teams faceoff three times in person, as he spent the season with the in-state foe, on injured reserve.
Ware Jr. spent his collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, which is in Whitewater, Wis. Ware Jr. had a stellar career for the Warhawks, earning an honorable mention on the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference squad. In his career, Ware Jr. racked up 1770 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, and averaged 5.2 yards per carry. Ware Jr. also added 42 receptions, for 482 yards and one receiving touchdown, to his resume, at Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Ware Jr. is originally from Tallahassee, Fla., before moving around a bit, and landing in Bradly, Ill. Ware Jr. attended Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School in Bradley, Ill. Ware Jr. attributes his inspiration to start playing football to various members of his family. Ware Jr. stated, "It starts with family. I watched my dad play Arena football for the Florida Firecats, while one of my cousins played for the Florida Gators with Tim Tebow, and my grandma owned a pee-wee football team." Ware Jr. expanded by saying, "I started playing , and wanted to keep putting in hard work, knowing the good things will come."
Ware Jr. discussed what continues to drive him to play today, as he said, "I have the resilience and I dig deep to take it (football) as far as I can." Ware Jr. said that being an underdog has always helped his motivation. Ware explained this by stating, "I had one Division I offer that was eventually taken away. I didn't receive any big accolades in college. I saw the business side of football, and it added fuel to the fire." Ware Jr. explained that his only Division I offer was retracted and given to a transfer student-athlete the day before Ware Jr.'s signing day. This provided Ware Jr. with a bigger chip on his shoulder than before.
When addressing Wranglers Nation, Ware Jr. stated, "I bring intensity to the game, I am excited to play for great coaches and learn for about the game and myself." Ware also added to this by stating, "The coaches have been very communicative with me, and the team just has that family feel."
Ware Jr. closed his thoughts by discussing the upward trajectory of talented players that the IFL and the Wranglers are signing. Ware stated, "Looking at some of the big names the team is bringing in, I will be excited to compete with the highest level of play."
