
North Carolina Courage Captain Abby Erceg Nominated for Award at ESPYS

CARY, N.C. (June 20, 2019) - North Carolina Courage captain Abby Erceg is one of four nominees for the Best NWSL Player award at the 2019 ESPYS, ESPN announced.
The award show will take place on Wednesday, July 10, at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles and will be televised on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
Erceg is currently participating in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup with New Zealand, and the defender played an invaluable role in the Courage's completion of a historic treble in 2018, which included a Women's International Champions Cup title, the NWSL Shield and the NWSL Championship.
Erceg started and played every minute of the Courage's 26-game season in 2018, scoring two goals and recording two assists. The 29-year-old center back was named NWSL Defender of the Year and to the league's Best XI team.
