
Normal CornBelters Announce 2015 Season Schedule

NORMAL, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, have officially released their 2015 schedule. Besides an "Education Day" exhibition game on Thursday, May 7 at 10 a.m. versus the Joliet Slammers, they will play 51 regular season home games at The Corn Crib from Friday, May 15 through Sunday, September 6. They will play the first home game of their sixth season on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:35 p.m. versus the Gateway Grizzlies ("CEFCU Opening Night").
"We are excited to bring our sixth anniversary schedule to our fans," said CornBelters President/General Manager Steve Malliet. "We have some special promotions and some exciting additions to The Corn Crib coming up in 2015."
New for the 2015 season, the CornBelters will start all Tuesday through Saturday home games at 6:35 p.m., and Sunday home games will begin at 3:05 p.m. The CornBelters home schedule features nine (9) Sunday games, eight (8) Tuesdays, eight (8) Wednesdays, eight (8) Thursdays, nine (9) Fridays and nine (9) Saturdays. For the third season in a row, they will play no home games on Mondays. Gates will always open one hour prior to game time. All game times are subject to change.
The Frontier League will again include 14 teams, separated into two divisions. The East Division will consist of the Lake Erie Crushers (Avon, OH), Traverse City Beach Bums (Traverse City, MI), Florence Freedom (Florence, KY), Evansville Otters (Evansville, IN), Southern Illinois Miners (Marion, IL), Washington Wild Things (Washington, PA) and Frontier Greys (travel team). The West Division will consist of the Schaumburg Boomers (Schaumburg, IL), Gateway Grizzlies (Sauget, IL), Windy City Thunderbolts (Crestwood, IL), River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO), Joliet Slammers (Joliet, IL), Rockford Aviators (Rockford, IL) and the CornBelters. The Schaumburg Boomers will host the All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 15.
"As it is every year in the Frontier League, we'll have a very challenging schedule. We expect to have some great competitive baseball in Normal," said CornBelters Field Manager, Brooks Carey. "Having 51 of our games at home is a huge advantage, because we always play extremely well at The Corn Crib."
