Miners Release 2015 Schedule

Marion, Ill. (November 7, 2014) - The Southern Illinois Miners announce that their schedule for the 2015 season has been finalized, with a full slate of 96 Frontier League games beginning on Friday, May 15th.
The Miners will open the season at All Pro Freight Stadium against the Lake Erie Crushers with a three-game set at the same site where they clinched their East Division championship last year. After an off day the following Monday, they return home to Marion for a six-game homestand beginning on Tuesday, May 19th against West Division champs from a season ago in the River City Rascals. They will also face the Rockford Aviators from Friday, May 22nd through Sunday May 24th to complete that homestand.
The schedule features 54 total home games for Southern Illinois in 2015, including 12 of the first 18 contests of the season overall. That stretch concludes from Tuesday, June 2nd through Thursday, June 4th, when the Miners face the Schaumburg Boomers in a rematch of last year's thrilling division series.
Other highlights include Fourth of July weekend, as the Miners will once again be at home from Friday, July 3rd through Sunday, July 5th to face the Normal CornBelters. The Miners will also finish the regular season at home this year, hosting the Florence Freedom from Friday, September 4th through Sunday, September 6th.

All weekday games (Monday-Friday) will start at 7:05 p.m. For the second year in a row, all Saturday contests will begin at 6:05 p.m., while Sunday games will start at 5:05 p.m. All game times are subject to change. Fans can listen to all Miners games, home and away, throughout the season with the "Voice of the Miners," Jason Guerette, on the Miners Radio Network, including the flagship station, US 97 (WHET-FM 97.7).
