NORMAL, Ill.- The Normal CornBelters scored six times in the fourth inning Monday night then cruised to a 9-3 win over the Gateway Grizzlies in game two of a three-game series at the Corn Crib.

B.J. Dail (5-5) suffered the loss. Dail allowed six runs on six hits in four innings of work. He walked two and did not strike out a batter.

The CornBelters (26-33) went up 9-0 before the Grizzlies ever got on the board.

Gordie Gronkowski broke up the shutout in the eighth inning. Gronkowski lined a two-out, two-run home run to right to make it 9-2. The long ball was the second in as many nights for Gronkowski and his third in 11 games with the Grizzlies. He finished 1 for 4.

The Grizzlies (31-28) tacked on another run with two outs in the ninth inning. Breck Draper singled then took second base on defensive indifference. Bobby Burk then lined a single through the left side of the infield for the 9-3 final. Burk was the only Grizzlies player with more than a single hit. He finished 2 for 4 with the RBI, his 30th this year.

The Grizzlies and CornBelters play the rubber game of the three-game series Tuesday night. It is the final game of a six-game trip for the Grizzlies.
