Norfolk Tides News Release

Michael Aubrey homered twice and Zach Britton tossed eight strong innings as the Tides topped the Charlotte Knights 6-1 in front of 8,517 fans at Harbor Park Saturday night.

Aubrey belted solo blasts in the third and seventh innings, extending his season home run total to a team-high 17. Aubrey now has 11 home runs and 32 RBI over his last 24 games, including nine homers and 21 RBI in his last 11 contests at Harbor Park.

The offensive support was more than enough for Britton (2-2), who tied career-highs with eight innings pitched and nine strikeouts. Britton yielded a run on five hits and faced just five batters over the minimum, throwing 58 of his 93 pitches for strikes.

With the win, Britton - who won seven games with Double-A Bowie earlier this year - joined Chris Tillman and Delmarva's Kenny Moreland as the only three Orioles minor leaguers who have registered nine victories this season.

Scott Moore and Lou Montanez each had three hits in the win, while Nolan Reimold added two hits, two walks and two runs scored. Matt Angle also belted his first Triple-A homer in the contest, a solo shot in the fifth inning off of Charlotte starter Brandon Hynick (1-3).

Angle, who also drew a walk in the sixth inning, has now reached base safely in 33 consecutive games, the second-longest stretch in the International League this season. He's also hit safely in nine straight games, batting .429 (15-for-35) with a homer, six RBI and six runs scored over that span.

The Tides and Knights will conclude their three-game set on Sunday evening, with first pitch scheduled for 6:15. Chris Tillman (9-7, 3.45) will take the hill for Norfolk against right-hander Lucas Harrell (10-9, 4.43).
