Norfolk Facing Elimination from Playoffs

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Blue and Gold dropped two of three home contests last week, and now trail the Aeros three games to two in their best-of-seven Conference Semifinal playoff series. On Wednesday, April 30, the Admirals out-shot Houston 31-17 as they finished with a 3-2 victory. The Aeros stormed back, edging Norfolk 3-2 on Friday, May 2, and claiming a 4-1 win on Sunday, May 4.

Houston (Minnesota) can end the Admirals' season when the teams square off in Game Six at the Compaq Center on Wednesday, May 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET. If necessary, Game Seven will be Thursday, May 8 in Houston at 8:00 p.m. ET.

CALDER CUP 2003 UPDATE

In other Calder Cup Playoff action: Binghamton (Ottawa) leads its series against Bridgeport (NY Islanders) 3-2. Game Six takes place this evening in Bridgeport at 7:05 ET.

Hamilton (Montreal/Edmonton) can knock Manitoba (Vancouver) out of the playoffs with a win as the Bulldogs hold a 3-1 advantage over the Moose. Game Five is tonight in Manitoba at 8:30 ET.

Grand Rapids (Detroit) swept the defending Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves (Atlanta) in four games and await the winner of the Norfolk-Houston series.
