Nola leads shutout of Fisher Cats

Aaron Nola (6-2) dominated once again as he led the Fightin Phils (20-18) to a 4-0 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (20-20) on Wednesday afternoon. Nola struck out seven batters without allowing a run to earn his sixth win.

Roman Quinn scored the first run off Fisher Cats starter Joel Pineiro in the bottom of the fourth inning, as he scored off a RBI groundout from Aaron Altherr. Brock Stassi hit a home run in a second straight game, his fifth of the season off Pineiro to give Reading a 2-0 lead.

Gabriel Lino added a two-run single off Pineiro in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Fightin Phils a 4-0 lead. Nefo Ogando tossed two scoreless innings in relief to preserve the win for Reading.

Nola's lone walk today, Dwight Smith in the top of the sixth inning was his sixth walked issued on the season.

The Fightin Phils are off on Thursday and resume play on Friday night in Portland, Maine against the SeaDogs. First pitch is at 6:00 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 5:30 pm.
