Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
Fenway Park was the setting on Saturday evening as the PawSox faced Buffalo. The Bisons topped Pawtucket 2-0. The PawSox managed just 5 hits, never more than one in any single inning. Starter and winner Collin McHugh (2-4) was masterful, tossing 7 shutout innings against Pawtucket (69-60). McHugh has a remarkable string going. He pitched in the Futures at Fenway in 2011, for Binghamton. As a B-Met, he blanked Portland for six innings. He owns a 13 inning scoreless streak against the Red Sox organization at Fenway. Jon Hee had a double in the fifth. It was Pawtuckets' only extra base hit. Jose Iglesias, Andy LaRoche, J.C. Linares and Nate Spears singled.
Chris Hernandez (1-3) pitched well, but took the loss. The lefty surrendered two runs in 6 innings. Josh Rodriguez belted a home run into the monster seats.
The series shifts to McCoy Stadium on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. Jeurys Familia (8-7) faces Billy Buckner (5-6).
