San Angelo Colts News Release

Edinburg, Texas---The Colts looking to recover from two-straight walk-off loses, would not have much better luck on Monday. In a game that turned out to be a pitching duel, would end in the third straight defeat against the WhiteWings. The early morning contest that began at 11:00 a.m. became a 5-2 loss for San Angelo.

After Logan Williamson and Alexander Concepcion battled for three scoreless innings, it was the WhiteWings who would deliver five in the bottom of the fourth. They received RBI doubles from David Peralta and Leivi Ventura, an RBI single by Wilmer Pino, as well as a two-run homer by Alexis Hernandez (2), as Rio went up 5-0. San Angelo scored their first run of the game as Ronnie Gaines (19) lead off the top of the sixth with homerun, tying a career high, to make it 5-1. It stayed that way until the ninth as the Colts rally fell short after Vic Ferrante drove in a run with an RBI single and had the tying run at the plate in Trey Carter. There would be no incredible comeback this time however, as San Angelo loses 5-2.

Logan Williamson despite suffering his first loss of the season went the distance throwing eight innings, while Alexander Concepcion went eight and two-thirds for the win. The Colts and WhiteWings finish their five game series on Tuesday with a double-header. In game one it will be Colts right Adam Kramer (2-1, 7.14) against fellow right-hander Eric Blackwell (6-2, 2.67) for the WhiteWings. In game two it will be right-hander Chandler Barnard for San Angelo (8-2, 3.66) versus righty David Cross (2-4, 9.58), who was recently acquired from Yuma and will be making his for start for Rio Grande. Game one will be joined in progress at around 5:50 p.m. and game two will air in its entirety. Listen to all the action on 101.9 "The Fire".
