ERIE, January 23, 2015 - Losing the last three meetings between the two teams, the Erie BayHawks (10-16), the NBA Development League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, reversed the fate of the outcome, dominating the Westchester Knicks (8-17) in Erie 98-74.

The Knicks ran up the score 11-4 to start, but it would be the only advantage of the game for Westchester. Erie took over the lead for the first time with just under five minutes to go in the first, driving up the score with ten quick points over the Knicks. Shooting 57 percent with both field goals and three-pointers, Erie outshot Westchester in the first, the Knicks 0-4 from beyond the arc hitting just 8 of 26 attempts. Despite nine points from big man Darnell Jackson, Westchester trailed the BayHawks 29-20 at the end of the opening quarter.

The BayHawks continued to rack up the points over Westchester, driving up a dominating 28 point lead in the second quarter. Erie guard Peyton Silva was 4-4 from long distance; he would lead both teams in scoring in the first half with 16 points. Being held to just 11 points in the second quarter and shooting just 28 percent going 0-6 on deep shot attempts, the Knicks headed into the locker room at the half trailing 57-31.

Westchester picked up the pace to keep up with Erie in the third, but the damage from the first half was too much for the Knicks to put a dent in the BayHawks' lead. Despite edging the quarter with 24 points over Erie's 23, the Knicks still trailed 57-31 heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter looked much like a repeat of the third. Despite one more point scored on the quarter, the disastrous 11 point second quarter plagued the Knicks who ultimately fell to the BayHawks 98-74. Only one point in the fourth was scored by a Westchester starter; Ben Strong and Ron Anderson Jr. added a combined 15 points off the bench. As a team, Westchester was 0-11 from beyond the arc in the game. In contrast, Erie shot a cool 52 percent from deep.

Only three Knicks found double digits on the night. Ben Strong came off the bench for Westchester to produce a team-high 20 points, making it a double-double with 11 rebounds. Darnell Jackson had 13 points with four rebounds and three steals, while Orlando Sanchez had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Peyton Silva led the way for Erie with a game-high 25 points, also contributing eight assists and six rebounds. Forward Jarvis Williams added 16 points, four rebounds, and a steal. A slower night for the number one D-League prospect Seth Curry, he had 11 points and six rebounds. Kadeem Batts and Daniel Coursey rounded out the double-digit scoring for the BayHawks with 10 points.

The Westchester Knicks return home to the Westchester County Center to play the Texas Legends tomorrow night, Jan. 24, for a 7:00 p.m. match-up. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a flashlight keychain courtesy of Red Oak Transportation. The game will be broadcast live on MSG+, YouTube, and AM 1230 WFAS.
