Dawkins Signs 10-Day Contract with Boston Celtics

Sioux Falls, SD (Jan. 23, 2015) - The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed guard Andre Dawkins to a 10-day contract. Additionally, the Celtics have assigned Dawkins to their NBA D-League Affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. Dawkins is the third Skyforce player to earn a Gatorade Call-Up this season and the 49 th player to earn a Call-Up in the organization's 26-year history.
Dawkins appeared in 11 games (six starts) for the Skyforce this season. His first eight appearances for the team came when he was on assignment from the Miami HEAT. After being waived by the HEAT on Jan. 6, the Skyforce acquired Dawkins and he would make three more appearances for the team. Over his 11 appearances with the team Dawkins averaged 22.9 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds. On the season, Dawkins is shooting 51% (53-104) from three point range which is the third best three point percentage in the NBA D-League. In his best game with the team, Dawkins scored 42 points (14-18 FG, 12-15 3FG) in a 138-126 win over the Texas Legends on Dec. 20. Dawkins' 12 made three-pointers is franchise record for a single game.
The Skyforce's (13-11) next action will be on the road this Saturday when they take on Dawkins and the Maine Red Claws (17-6).
