
No. 2 Seed Chicago Sky Will Host No. 3 Seed Connecticut Sun in 2022 WNBA Playoff Semi-Finals

CHICAGO - After a win on the road on Tuesday, August 23rd against the New York Liberty in Round 1, Game 3 in the first-round of the 2022 WNBA Playoffs, the 2021 defending champion Chicago Sky solidified its spot in the Semi-Finals against the Connecticut Sun. Chicago will play its first two games of the Semi-Finals at home on August 28th and August 31st before heading on the road to play Game 3 in Connecticut. If necessary, Game 4 will be played in Connecticut and Game 5 will be played in Chicago. Please see below for the full Semi-Finals schedule.
The Sky and Sun have faced off the in the playoffs twice before. In the 2020 playoffs, the Sun defeated the Sky in Round 1, and in 2021, the Sky defeated the No. 1 seed Connecticut Sun in four games in the 2021 WNBA Semifinals to advance to the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2014.
On the last regular-season game on August 14th, 2022, the Sky recorded a franchise record 26th win of the season against the Phoenix Mercury. The Sky's previous record was 24 wins in a season. The Sky also held a ten-game home winning streak, its longest home winning streak in franchise history. On July 31st, 2022, Chicago set an all-time mark for road wins in a season at 11 games. Chicago had previously won 10 road games in the 2013 season. Chicago also currently holds a 11-7 postseason record for games at home.
The Sky finished the 2022 regular-season as the league leader in assists per game at 24.3 apg and field goal percentage at 48.1%. Chicago also entered the postseason ranking second-best in the WNBA points per game at 86.3 ppg and third in defensive rebounds, averaging 27.6 per game.
