No. 10 AppleSox Welcome Portland Bucks to Wenatchee

(Wenatchee, Wash.)- Following a thrilling 11 inning win against the Kelowna Falcons on Sunday night, the No. 10 Wenatchee AppleSox are back in action in a non-league contest versus the Portland Bucks tonight at 7:05.

Wenatchee (25-11) is coming off a series win against the Falcons and remains in the driver's seat for the East Division's top spot in the West Coast League playoffs. The Sox currently sit three games ahead of Bellingham for first place in the division.

This will be Wenatchee's third set against a non-league foe this season. The Sox are 4-0 in non-league games this season, defeating the Central Oregon Bucks and Portland Dukes twice.

Gonzaga Teammates Leading League in Hitting/Pitching Categories

Mitchell Gunsolus and Derek Callahan have had their names atop the leaderboards in various statistical categories this season. Gunsolus, who at one point led the league in batting average, currently has the most RBI (28) in the league. Gunsolus is batting .353 this season, which ranks fifth in the league. His collegiate teammate, Callahan, leads the WCL in strikeouts (43). Callahan holds a 1.67 ERA and a 3-2 record through the 2012 campaign.

Kane Ties West Coast League Record

With Tyler Kane's save on July 14th against Kelowna, the University of Washington product tied the WCL record for most saves in a single season (11). Kane boasts a 1.40 ERA in 19.1 innings pitched with 18 strikeouts to only three walks.
