
Zane Yanzick's 5th Inning Grand Slam Paces Elks to 8-5 Victory

Zane Yanzick hit a towering shot over the Left Field wall at Vince Genna Stadium on Tuesday night, a grand slam that broke the game for the Elks and gave them a 7-0 lead. The Elks would hold on to win by a score of 8-5.
Offensively for the Elks, Will Sparks continued his hot hitting, going 3-4 and extending his hit streak to 11 games, helping pace the Elks for their second win in as many days.
On the mound, Daniel Chavez got the start and the win, as Chavez extended Corvallis's scoreless streak to 14 innings before the Knights scored 5 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Derek Peterson and Jordan Spencer pitched a scoreless 8th and 9th inning for the Elks respectively, Spencer getting the save, securing the Elks 18th win of the season.
The Elks will begin a 5 game road trip on Wednesday from Corvallis against the same Corvallis Knights. First pitch slated for 6:40 p.m.
