NLL Playoffs return to Pepsi Center
April 5, 2007 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth will make its fifth consecutive appearance in the National Lacrosse League Champion's Cup Playoffs on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. when it hosts a West Division Semifinal at Pepsi Center.
The Mammoth is 11-3 and in first place in the West Division. The top four teams in both the West and East divisions qualify for the single-elimination postseason, with the higher seeds hosting each game.
Playoff matchups likely won't be set until after the Mammoth finishes the regular season with a home-and-home series against the San Jose Stealth on April 12 at Pepsi Center and April 13 in San Jose, Calif. A victory in either game would give the Mammoth the division title and guarantee home-field advantage in the West Division Championship Game, should it advance.
Tickets for the April 21 game start at $5 and go on sale this Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at the Pepsi Center box office, online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 303.830.TIXS and at all Ticketmaster outlets. The game's date and time are subject to change.
The Mammoth has qualified for the NLL playoffs in each of its five seasons in Denver and is 3-1 in postseason games at Pepsi Center. The Mammoth won its West Division Semifinal and West Division Championship Game at Pepsi Center last season before defeating the Buffalo Bandits in the 2006 NLL Championship Game in Buffalo, N.Y.
