Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS- A ninth inning single by Ryan Strausborger allowed Mike Olt to score the winning run as Frisco defeated Tulsa 4-3 Friday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Frisco starter Barret Loux also picked up his first no decision of the season.
The RoughRiders put the first run of the game on the board in the second inning. Mike Olt led off with a solo home run to left field, his twelfth of the season.
Looking at a one-run hole, the Drillers countered by putting up two runs in the third. Loux induced a ground ball before walking Lars Davis. Davis was quickly retired after being thrown out trying to steal second by Jose Felix. Singles by Mike Mitchell and Josh Rutledge put Drillers on first and second before a double steal moved the two into scoring position. Angelys Nina hit a ground ball to Jurickson Profar. A wild throw by Profar sailed past the outstretched arms of Chris McGuiness and allowed Mitchell and Rutledge to score.
That would be the last lead of the night for the Drillers. With one out in the fourth, Profar singled to right field. Mike Olt then stepped into the batter's box and hit his second home run of the game to left field giving Frisco a 3-2 advantage.
The Drillers quickly tied up the game as Josh Rutledge hit a solo home run off of Barret Loux in the fifth inning. The score remained at three apiece heading to the bottom of the ninth inning.
