North Little Rock, AR - The Arkansas Travelers blanked the Tulsa Drillers 1-0 behind LHP Sean Newcomb's seven no-hit shutout innings on Tuesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Newcomb needed just 64 pitches to work the seven frames and faced the minimum 21 batters with six strikeouts. The Angels' top prospect lowered his Double-A ERA to 1.29 over five starts and opponents are hitting just .138 (13-for-94). Newcomb also leads Minor League Baseball with 158 strikeouts.

With two outs in the eighth and LHP Greg Mahle (W, 3-3) pitching, Drillers 3B Erisbel Arruebarrena tripled to deep left-center field to break up the Travs no-hitter. Mahle stranded Arruebarrena, the lone Tulsa hit of the evening.

In the bottom of the eighth with 2B Sherman Johnson on second, SS Erick Salcedo lined a two-out RBI single to right-center to get Arkansas on the board.

LF Ruben Sosa finished 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk and extended his hitting streak to 13 straight games.

CF Chad Hinshaw went 2-for-4 and has reached base safely in 30 of 31 games since being activated off the disabled list.

Tulsa starter LHP Julio Urias worked six innings and allowed no runs on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

LHP Grant Dayton (L, 0-1) took the loss.

With the win, Arkansas moved to three games ahead of the Springfield Cardinals atop the Texas League North Division second half standings with 13 games to play. Arkansas and Tulsa will play game two of the four-game series on Wednesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
