Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS (AUGUST 26, 2015) - The Texas Rangers announced today that catcher Carlos Corporan has been assigned to Double-A Frisco on an injury rehabilitation assignment beginning with tonight's game against San Antonio at 7:05 p.m. Corporan was placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 17, retroactive to July 13, with a left thumb sprain.
Corporan, 31, had his previous rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock (July 30-August 3) cut short after four games due to additional discomfort with the thumb injury. The six-year pro appeared in 33 games this season for the Rangers and hit .178 with three home runs, 15 RBI and ten runs scored. Corporan has previously played for the Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros.
The Riders have just six home dates remaining on their 2015 regular season schedule. Fans can bring their dogs to the game tonight for Bark in the Park Night. Tickets start as low as $7. Tickets may be purchased at the Dr Pepper Ballpark box office, by calling (972) 731-9200 or via www.RidersBaseball.com.
