HARRISON, NJ (July 28, 2014) - The New York Red Bulls sent defender Connor Lade on loan to the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League today. Lade can be recalled from the Cosmos at any point during his loan.

"This loan enables Connor to get some much needed playing minutes in competitive action while also keeping him fresh for the remainder of the 2014 season," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh. "We will monitor Connor's progress as the year proceeds."

Now in his third year with the Red Bulls, Lade has made 36 career MLS appearances, including 24 starts. Through 20 games this season, the Red Bulls homegrown product has made four appearances for the Red Bulls. All four appearances have been as a substitute. He made his MLS debut on April 14, 2012, at Red Bull Arena, playing 31 minutes as a second-half substitute in a 2-2 tie with San Jose.

The Morristown, NJ native joined the Red Bulls Academy in his senior year of high school in 2007. Lade played for the U-18 team in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy during the 2008-2008 season before helping the U-20 team win the United Soccer Leagues' Y-League Championship in 2009. Lade also saw time with the U-23 team in the National Premier Soccer League and played four standout seasons at St. John's University before signing with the Red Bulls first team.
