
New York Red Bulls Complete Transfer of Colombian Youth International Juan José Mina from Deportivo Cali

HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls have completed the transfer of Colombian Youth International Juan José Mina from Deportivo Cali pending the receipt of his P-1 visa and ITC, the club announced today. Mina has signed a three-and-a-half year MLS contract through 2026, with an option for 2027.
"We are very excited to add Juan [Mina] to our roster for this season and beyond," Head of Sport Jochen Schneider said. "Juan [Mina] is a talented defender that we have identified as player that can be successful in our playing style and help the club achieve success."
Mina, 19, has spent the last two seasons with Deportivo Cali in Colombia's first division. He joined the club in 2022 and has made 26 appearances, tallied two assists, and totaled 1,541 minutes played over his time. The defender made his professional debut on May 7, 2022, against Independiente Sante Fe, where he tallied his first professional assist.
"Juan [Mina] has a lot of qualities that we value in our defenders, especially in the pressing style we are known for," said Head Coach Troy Lesesne. "We believe Juan [Mina] will help our roster this season and beyond."
The Guachené, Colombia native has represented Colombia at various youth levels, including the U-16's and U-20's. He has made 10 appearances with the U-16 and made his debut on November 23, 2019. Mina was called up for the 2023 U-20 South American Championship, he made his debut for the U-20's on May 31, 2022 against Comoros U-20's.
