
New York Red Bulls Announce 2009 Preseason Training Schedule

SECAUCUS, NJ (January 14, 2009) - The 2008 MLS Cup Finalist New York Red Bulls today announced their preseason training schedule for the 2009 Major League Soccer campaign will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Giants Stadium. Players are scheduled to arrive for physicals starting Jan. 19.
The Red Bulls will host a rookie/invitation camp beginning on Jan. 20 at Giants Stadium and the full team will report starting on Jan. 23. After training in New Jersey on the week of Jan. 26, the squad will head to Bradenton, FL, on Feb. 2 and will train and play scrimmages until Feb. 14. Less than a week later, the team will head to Buenos Aires, Argentina for the Red Bulls' second training camp of the year, before returning to the New York/New Jersey area on March 9.
The Red Bulls begin the 2009 MLS season on March 19 at Seattle against the expansion Seattle Sounders FC. The game will be telecast nationally on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes at 9 PM ET and locally broadcast live on WADO 1280 AM in Spanish.
