
New York Rangers Captain Ryan Callahan to Appear at Frontier Field

ROCHESTER, NY - New York Rangers Captain Ryan Callahan will appear at the August 23 Red Wings game at Frontier Field to sign autographs and throw the Ceremonial First Pitch. The former Hilton High School and the Rochester Junior Americans star will sign autographs in the Red Wings Hall of Fame from 6:00 - 6:50 p.m. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and gametime for the Red Wings and Lehigh Valley IronPigs is 7:05 p.m.
At the age of 26 last year, Callahan was named the 26th captain in the history of the New York Rangers. He is the fifth youngest captain in team history and the first homegrown captain since Brian Leetch was named to the post in October 1997. Callahan also is the first native of New York state to serve as captain of the Rangers.
Callahan, who was selected by the Rangers in the fourth round of the 2004 draft, has scored 105 goals and assisted on 93 others for a total of 198 points in 360 career National Hockey League games. The right winger scored six goals and tallied four assists in 20 Stanley Cup playoff games in 2012.
