TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the first game of a four-game set at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). After a 5-1 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox last night, the Herd is just 1-3 halfway through its eight-game homestand. Buffalo travels to Boston on Saturday to square off with the PawSox in the 7th Annual Futures at Fenway Game at Fenway Park.

vs. IRONPIGS: The Bisons are 5-4 against the IronPigs this season. The Herd split a two-game series in Lehigh Valley, August 8-9. The last time the IronPigs were in Buffalo, April 16-19, the teams split a four-game set. The Bisons will again travel to Lehigh Valley for the final three games of the 2012 regular season, September 1-3.

WE ARE FAMILIA: RHP JEURYS FAMILIA makes his IL-leading 25th start of the season tonight. The righty is coming off a no-decision in Lehigh Valley, August 8, where he tossed 6.0 innings while allowing four runs (one earned) and striking out seven. Familia leads all current Bisons pitchers in strikeouts (100) and innings pitched (112.0). He is also tied with RHP CHRIS SCHWINDEN for the team lead in wins with seven.

SILKY: INF JOSH SATIN had his 11-game hit streak snapped last night after going 0-3 with an RBI, his 54th of the season. The slugger hit .450 (18-40) during his stretch that began on July 31. Satin leads the Bisons in batting average (.299) and is just three RBI behind OF VALENTINO PASCUCCI for the team lead. He continues to lead the IL with a .401 on-base percentage.

BISONS BITS: LHP C.J. NITKOWSKI has allowed just one unearned run in five appearances with the Herd (4.1IP)...OF FRED LEWIS has scored at least one run in eight of his last nine games and is 3rd in the IL with 68. He is also tied for 5th in the International League with 21 stolen bases...RHP FERNANDO CABRERA tossed a scoreless ninth inning last night. He continues to lead the IL in appearances (49), games finished (41) and saves (19)...Since joining the Herd on July 27, C MIKE NICKEAS is hitting .324 (12-37) with four doubles, a home run, and four RBI in 12 games.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (55-60) were off yesterday and are in Cincinnati tonight to begin a three-game set at Great American Ball Park (7:10 p.m.). RHP CHRIS YOUNG will be on the mound for New York. INF DAVID WRIGHT is fifth in the National League in batting average (.325), second in extra-base hits (53), and third in OBP (.416).
