Wichita Thunder News Release

Wichita, KS (December 23rd) - The Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League, powered by Toyota, announced today that its game against the Allen Americans on New Year's Eve has been pushed up an hour to 6:05 p.m. The Thunder will travel to Allen Events Center in a rematch of last year's CHL Finals and will be the first meeting between the two teams since Opening Weekend.

The two organizations agreed to move up the start time to give fans of both teams attending the game a chance to get ready for New Year's Eve Events. This will be the second time in the last five years the Thunder will face Allen on New Year's Eve with the last meeting taking place during the 2009-10 season. All-time, Wichita is 13-7-1 on New Year's Eve.

Wichita and Allen have met just twice this season and happened back in October. Both games finished 4-3 in a shootout with the visiting team earning the decision in a home-and-home series.

The Thunder close out its five-game road trip this Friday against Tulsa at the BOK Center at 7:35 p.m., which is also the start of a tough stretch of four games in five days right after the Christmas break. Wichita returns home on Saturday, December 28th and 29th to host the St. Charles Chill for the first-time ever.

Individual game tickets are on sale now. Season tickets and mini plans are still available. Don't delay, contact the Wichita Thunder Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at (316) 264-4625. Stay up-to-date on all the news this off-season by visiting www.wichitathunder.com.
