Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-With just 43 days remaining until the beginning of 2011, the Waterloo Black Hawks and Cedar Bend Humane Society unveiled their second annual "Take Paws to Support a Good Cause" calendar Thursday.
"As the owner of a shelter dog, I really appreciate the Cedar Bend Humane Society and their mission," said Waterloo Black Hawks Vice President of Business Operations Shawna Rowe. "The photography students from Hawkeye Community College took some adorable pictures of some lovable animals."
Posing with those pets are members of the 2010-2011 Waterloo Black Hawks at various locations throughout Young Arena. The calendar cover includes a variety of candid snapshots from the shoot. Inside, twelve full-color photos correspond with each month of the year. The Hawkeye Community College Photography Club, under the direction of Dan Nierling, took all of the pictures. Photos from Breanna Good, Melissa Box, Alexis Nation, Alisha Moe, and Sommer Mosch are included.
Each $10 calendar purchased will benefit the Cedar Bend Humane Society as they care for unwanted and neglected animals in Black Hawk County. The 2011 calendar will be available at this weekend's Black Hawks home games, the Cedar Bend Humane Society office on Airline Highway in Waterloo, Party Town Outfitters - the official souvenir store of the Black Hawks - and partytownoutfitters.com.
The Cedar Bend Humane Society is a nonprofit organization and the only full service animal shelter in Black Hawk County. Find out more about adoptable pets and other animal services at cedarbendhumane.org.
