New promotions announced for next Pelicans homestand

(Pensacola, FL) --- While the Pensacola Pelicans continue their longest road trip of the season, the Pelicans staff has announced several new promotions for the upcoming homestand, which begins July 30.

Thursday, July 31 is Back To School Night at Pelican Park. Parents can bring their kids to Pelican Park to purchase school supplies for the upcoming year. Gates will open at 6 p.m. for the promotion, which is sponsored by Office Depot.

Friday, August 1 is Pack the Park Night at Pelican Park, as well as Scout Night. Local cub scout packs and boy scout troops are invited to camp out on the Pelican Park grounds after the Pelicans' game with the Southeastern Cloverleafs, the finale of a three-game series.

Saturday, August 2 will be another World Record-setting day at Pelican Park. After the conclusion of the Pelicans' game, the first of three with the Houma Hawks, fans will have the opportunity to partake in what's being dubbed the World's Longest Sundae.

The sundae will be 200 feet long, starting at second base and extending to the center field wall. The sundae will contain more than 20 gallons of ice cream. The promotion is sponsored by TCBY.
