New-Look Islanders Welcome Familiar Face in Keith Getson and Mooseheads

Seeing Keith Getson in colours other than black and gold isn't something Islanders fans have seen before; however, there's a first time for everything.

The long-time Islander will suit up in his first game as a Halifax Moosehead in front of a familiar crowd, as the Mooseheads travel to Charlottetown to take on the Islanders in what will be his final regular season game at the Eastlink Centre.

The Islanders (20-10-2-1) will ice a new-look team following a series of trades involving big-name players. Making their debuts tonight include defenseman Noah Laaouan, acquired from the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles for Derek Gentile, and Jordan Maher, acquired from Halifax as part of the package for Getson. The new-look Isles will be on the hunt for revenge after dropping their final game prior to the Christmas break 6-2 to the Moose.

Defenseman Xavier Bernard, acquired from Drummondville as part of the package for Pierre-Olivier Joseph, will not be in the lineup tonight. He'll serve a one-game suspension received prior to the Christmas holidays. Alexander Dersch, who following his release from Team Germany's World Junior Selection Camp remained home for the holidays, will be back in the lineup.

The Mooseheads (24-7-1-1) will also have a new look to their lineup. On top of acquiring Getson, the team announced yesterday the acquisition of Maxim Trepanier from the Gatineau Olympiques. They'll be without defenseman Jared McIsaac, who is with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships. Ostap Safin (hip) and Samuel Dube (blood clot) remain out with injuries.

Carter MacLellan will be playing tunes in the Moose Light Lounge before and after the game, as well as during intermissions. Before and after the game help yourself to $3 19+ beverages before and after the game. The Olde Dublin Pub will also provide finger foods and appetizers in the lounge!
