
New Jersey Cranks Six Homers, Sweeps Dominican 16-3

After scoring 19 runs in game one and 15 runs in game two, the New Jersey Jackals scored 16 runs in game three en route to a 16-3 victory over the Dominican Republic.
The Jackals hit six home runs on Thursday night to earn its first series sweep of 2018.
In the top of the first, the Dominican Republic did all of its scoring after bringing in three runs.
A triple by second baseman Edgar Herrera, a wild pitch that brought in Henry Castillo and a RBI by center fielder Juan Evangelista made the game 3-0.
The Jackals quickly responded in the bottom of the second, tallying six runs.
Right fielder Nolan Meadows hit a two run homer and catcher Andy Mocahbee followed Meadows to earn back-to-back blasts.
Left fielder Connor Hofmann stole third and then came home on an error by catcher Robert De La Hoz.
First baseman Danny Canela then lined a two run single down the right field line to make it 6-3, Jackals.
Three runs came across for the Jackals in the third on a walk to shortstop Carlos Triunfel, a fielder's choice by second baseman Seth Spivey and an RBI double by center fielder David Harris made it 9-3, New Jersey.
Meadows hit his second home run in the bottom of the fourth, a two run blast for his first multi-homer game of the season. The Jackals went ahead 11-3.
The Jackals then plated two more in the bottom of the seventh when Spivey launched a homer over the right field wall for his fourth of the year.
Harris then hit an inside-the-park home run later in the inning to cap off yet another multi-run inning for New Jersey.
Ahead 14-3, Mochabee crushed his second homer in the bottom of the eighth to put the finishing blow on the Dominican Republic.
Meadows and Mochabee became the first pair of teammates to hit multi-homer games this season for the Jackals.
Starting pitcher Dylan Brammer picked up his fourth win of the season, after going six innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out nine while walking two coupled with five hits.
The New Jersey bullpen was lights out, too.
Even DeLuca, Nate Gercken and Jose Velez pitched a combined three shut-out innings along with five strikeouts.
The Jackals now hit the road to take on the Trois-Rivieres Aigles in a three game series beginning on June 15.
First pitch is set for 7:05 P.M.
