New Book Shows History of Trenton Baseball

"Baseball In Trenton" is a new book that chronicles the history of professional baseball in Trenton and will be available in stores starting next week. The author, former Trenton Thunder Radio Broadcaster Tom McCarthy, will be holding a book signing as part of the Trenton Baseball Hall of Fame Dinner on November 6th.

The book chronicles in pictures a large portion of the history of professional baseball in Trenton starting with the Minor League teams that played at Dunn Field during the 1930's, 40's and 50's. The book also lives through the rebirth of baseball in Trenton with the beginning of the Trenton Thunder franchise in the fall of 1993. "Baseball In Trenton" shows how the franchise came into existence and has become one of the most successful franchises in Minor League history.

Baseball In Trenton" will be available for $19.99 at local bookstores and at the Trenton Thunder Company Store Giftshop at Waterfront Park and online. Proceeds from book will benefit the Grand Slam We Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Trenton Thunder and the Lakewood BlueClaws.

THUNDER TO HOST MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER

The Thunder will host renowned motivational speaker Glenn Gelabert for a sales seminar in the Yankee Club & Conference Center at Waterfront Park on September 25, 2003. This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to take part in this seminar that has helped numerous companies increase their sales productivity though an enthusiastic and positive thinking approach. The day will begin at 8:30 am with registration followed by the first session that will run from 9 am until 12 pm. After an hour and a half lunch break that will feature a stadium tour there will be a second session with Glenn that will run until 5 pm. ANGELS STAR DAVID ECKSTEIN AND OAKLAND MANAGER KEN MACHA TO APPEAR IN TRENTON NOVEMBER 6

Former Thunder infielder David Eckstein and former Thunder Manager Ken Macha will be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame in a ceremony to be held at La Villa Ristorante in Hamilton, NJ on November 6th. The doors to the restaurant will open at 6:00 PM with the ceremony set to begin at 7:00 PM.

Tickets to the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony are $29 for adults and $26 for children under age 12. All guests will have a choice of roast beef, roasted chicken, or a vegetarian dish as their entrée.
