
Nevada Smith Named NBA G League Coach of the Month

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The NBA G League announced today that Sioux Falls Skyforce Head Coach Nevada Smith was named NBA G League Coach of the Month for games played during the Month of February. This marks the first time Smith has been named Coach of the Month since joining the Skyforce organization.
Sioux Falls finished the month with a 6-1 overall record, including a season-best six-game winning streak that spanned from February 2 to February 26. The Skyforce scored a season-best 118.0 points per game in February, while holding opponents to just 106.0 points per game. During the Force's six-game winning streak, Sioux Falls' average margin of victory was 14.8 points per game.
Coach Smith's defense saw an uptick over the last four weeks, as the Force held opponents to just 42.7 percent shooting from the field and just 31.1 percent from beyond the arc. Sioux Falls also forced a season-best 12.4 steals per game, led in large part by Briante Weber's league-leading 3.1 steals per game.
With a 22-18 record, the Skyforce now sit in first place in the Midwest Division, leading the Oklahoma City Blue (21-20) by 1.5 games. Sioux Falls entered the month of February ranked third in the Midwest, and trailing the Blue by 3.0 games.
