OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have announced the acquisition of a 2025 3rd round, phase I pick, a 2025 2nd round, phase II pick along with future considerations from the Green Bay Gamblers in exchange for Forward, Libor Nemec.
Nemec (2003), of Bratislava, Slovakia will be playing his first full-time season in the USHL in Green Bay after skating in 25 games with the Lancers at the tail end of the 2022-23 season.
Nemec made his USHL debut in Omaha on January 20, 2023, in a 4-0 loss to the Tri-City Storm at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. It only took three games for the forward to pick up his first point in the league as he netted a goal in a 3-1 home victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede with assists from Reese Laubach and Nate Benoit.
After tallying his first point, the 6-foot-3, 187-pound winger ended up averaging just over 0.5 points per game, racking up six goals and six assists in 23 games played.
The Lancers discovered Nemec during the 2023 World Juniors Championship, where he picked up six points (3G-3A-6P) in five games played. Including leading team Slovakia to the quarterfinals where they fell in overtime, 4-3 to Team Canada.
The Lancers wish Libor the best of luck as he enters his final year in the USHL!
