Waterloo, Iowa - From the beginning to the end of the 2023/24 hockey season, four of Iowa's United States Hockey League teams will vie for the Dupaco Cowbell Cup, with a record 48 scheduled games to determine this season's winner.

The series begins when the Dubuque Fighting Saints host the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday, September 29th. It may then take until the final night of the USHL regular season to determine a winner: the Black Hawks close the season by hosting the Des Moines Buccaneers, while the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders simultaneously visit the Fighting Saints on Saturday, April 13th. This year's 48-game Dupaco Cowbell Cup slate will jump from the 36 head-to-head games between Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Dubuque, and Waterloo which counted toward the series standings in 2022/23.

Dupaco Community Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative headquartered in Dubuque and serving residents in 118 counties throughout Iowa, northwest Illinois and southwest Wisconsin. Dupaco is dedicated to the financial well-being of its members, and specializes in personalized financial counseling, money advice, and education. It offers savings, loans, investments, insurance, and wealth management products for individuals and businesses at 22 branch office locations.

"Dupaco's partnership has heightened several rivalries which already feature a lot of natural intensity for our fans and players," said Hawks President and COO Joe Greene. "This season, Dupaco Cowbell Cup games represent almost 30 percent of our schedule, so performing well on those nights will be crucial to achieving all of our goals for the season. Winning the Dupaco Cowbell Cup is right there with our foremost goals."

The Dupaco Cowbell Cup champion will be determined by the results of regular season USHL games played head-to-head between the contending teams. Two points will be earned for each win, with one point awarded for an overtime or shootout loss. This season, each participating club plays eight games against the others. As a result of the balanced schedule, every meeting will count toward the standings.

The Black Hawks' have notable home games against Dupaco Cowbell Cup opponents on Thanksgiving (Cedar Rapids), New Year's Eve (Dubuque), and Fan Appreciation Night (April 13th versus Des Moines). Single-game tickets for all 30 Hawks games at Young Arena are also now on sale through the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office and tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com.
