
Nelson Cruz Rehabs with the 'Riders

FRISCO, TX - Texas Rangers' outfielder Nelson Cruz will make a rehab start with the RoughRiders at Dr Pepper Ballpark beginning Thursday, August 26th.
Cruz was most recently placed on the disabled list on August 16th with a strained left hamstring - an injury that has already sidelined him twice this season. A 2009 All-Star, Cruz is hitting .320 with 16 home runs and 64 RBI in 77 games the with Rangers.
As a former farmhand with the Oakland Athletics in 2004, Cruz played against the RoughRiders twice in a pair of four-game August series. Against the 'Riders, Cruz hit .432 (16-37) with 4 home runs and 9 RBI in eight games. In his four games at Dr Pepper Ballpark as a Midland RockHound, Cruz homered twice and drove in four runs.
