North Carolina Courage News Release
CARY, N.C. - The North Carolina Courage have placed 17-year-old midfielder Riley Jackson on the 45-day injured reserve with a right foot injury, retroactive to August 1, 2023, as announced by the club on Friday. In a corresponding move, defender Sarah Clark has rejoined the roster on an injury replacement player contract.
Jackson, who signed with the Courage on July 28 of this year, was co-captain for the U.S.A. team at the U-17 World Cup in 2022 and has continuously participated in U-18/19 camps throughout 2023. The Roswell, Georgia native played club soccer for Concorde Fire SC (ECNL) and was named the 2021-22 Gatorade National Girls Soccer Player of the Year as a sophomore at Blessed Trinity High School.
Clark has been training with the Courage since preseason and was signed as a National Team Replacement Player during the World Cup. She made her NWSL debut on July 29 in UKG Challenge Cup action against Orlando, delivering an assist on the sixth Courage goal of the evening.
The Courage return to action on Sunday, October 1, when they visit OL Reign for an 8:00 p.m. ET (5 PT) kickoff at Lumen Field. The match will air regionally on Bally Sports South and the Bally app, stream across the United States on Paramount+ and internationally on www.nwslsoccer.com.
