HARRISON, NJ - NJ/NY Gotham FC today announced that midfielder Nealy Martin has signed a new contract with the club through the 2026 season.
"I am very blessed and excited to stay with Gotham FC," said Martin. "My vision and goals align with what the club is building here. I have already grown so much as a player and person in this environment, and I am looking forward to continuing to build what we've started here to lead into a massive playoff push for the city."
Martin has been a consistent presence since stepping into the midfield near the halfway mark of the 2023 season. She has started in 11 of the 13 games in which she has appeared, totaling 917 minutes. Additionally, the midfielder notched her first career assist this season on June 25 against the Chicago Red Stars.
"Nealy Martin has really stepped up as a reliable player for us this season," said Gotham FC head coach Juan Carlos Amorós. "Her commitment to continually grow and develop has strengthened her abilities and helped elevate the players around her. She is an example of commitment, attitude and professionalism, so it's fantastic that we can continue building a special Gotham FC together for our fans."
Since joining Gotham FC in December 2022, Martin has played in 19 games and has made 15 starts for the club. The Alabama native began her professional career with Racing Louisville FC in April 2021, where she spent two seasons and appeared in 29 games - 21 of them as a starter.
"Nealy has demonstrated her ability to play a key role in our midfield with great tenacity and grit that adds to the depth of our talented roster," said Gotham FC General Manager and Head of Soccer Operations Yael Averbuch West.
Prior to embarking on a professional career in the NWSL, Martin played collegiately at the University of Alabama, where she served as captain of the team in her junior and senior seasons.
Gotham FC will return to action at home on Sunday, Oct. 1 to host the Houston Dash. For information on tickets, visit GothamFC.com/Tickets.
